Jim Tate

DSCN0478_kindlephoto-10362356Jim is a life long member of First Baptist Church. In May 2016, he assumed the role of Interim Business Administrator because of the retirement of Associate Minister Tommy Wilson.

Jim is retired after a 36 year career in law enforcement. He last served as an Assistant Chief of Police (Major) with the High Point NC Police Department. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Planning and Administration from UNC Charlotte and is a graduate of the Administrative Officers Management Program at NC State University. Over the years, Jim has served on several committees related to the business operations of the church. He serves as a church deacon and Sunday School teacher in the Crusader’s Mens Class.

Jim, and his wife Debbie have two grown children, Will and wife Chelsea, and Anna Raye. They have one grandchild, Levi. In his free time, Jim enjoys reading, history and travel.
