Update on school in Santa Elena, Belize, Central America

/

The Santa Elena Primary School was completed this year  (2013) by the combined efforts of Belizians and churches in North Carolina. This project was led stateside by Hal Melton of Trinity Baptist Church, and Pastor Manny Cowo was the leader in Belize. This site is west of the Baptist Training Center where FBC Lexington usually works. But FBC in a trip with Roxboro did help build the upper level at Manny’s church–Santa Elena Baptist. In 2012, FBC contributed $1000 to help buy materials for the construction of the Primary School which also doubles as a hurricane shelter and community center. Two classrooms opened this fall.

You see the students in the one classroom who were so excited to have their pictures taken. In the below picture is the teacher of the second classroom. She is Ana Hulse (daughter of Rev. Pacheo) of Iglesia Bautista Nueva Jerusalem in Benque and graduate of the Baptist Bible School of Belize. It is so exciting to have a graduate of the pastor’s school leading the children.
