Save the Date: TDCWL 2017

Jesus commanded us to love our neighbors.  Touching Davidson County with Love, a community mission activity, was born to help us fulfill this command.  2015 was the tenth year of celebrating TDCWL, and fifteen Davidson County churches joined together last April to conduct a one-day demonstration of love for the needy.  The churches represented a variety of denominations.

The next Touching Davidson County with Love is April 22, 2017.

We would love to have you involved in 2017!

Here is our outline of activity:
–In January all interested churches will select one or more representatives to serve on the TDCWL Steering Committee.
–There will probably be a meeting of the Steering Committee each month until the day of Touching Davidson County with Love.
–For several months, we will be searching for projects that will demonstrate our love for the needy.  Possibly projects include but not limited to building wheelchair ramps, visiting nursing homes, singing at nursing homes, making blankets for abused children, cleaning yards, delivering food and other gifts, making repairs, cleaning up camps to get ready for the summer and many other ideas that you may suggest.

Belize Mission Team Returns Wednesday, August 12, 2015

This week twenty nine youth and adults have been leading a Vacation Bible School
along with the youth and adults of the Belmopan Baptist Church. Today our youth are
assisting in the worship service at The church. Following a few days of adventure and
relaxing they will return late Wednesday. Continue to pray for an enriching experience
and safe travels. We look forward to next Sunday and hearing more about the trip.

“Souper” Bowl Sunday 2014 Visual Recap

While the Super Bowl game was anticlimactic, the FBC version, Souper Bowl 2014, was a hit.  The stars of the event were the FBC congregation and guests along with Mrs. Joyce’s homemade vegetable soup, Conrad & Hinkle pimento cheese, Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches and Brownies.

To top it all off, FBC’s youth did it again…..another successful fundraiser for the pursuit of mission and service to our local and international community.

Great job FBC Youth!

Faith Health — Save the dates.

Operation Christmas Child

Determine whether you wish to sponsor a boy or girl and choose the age group. Simply pack appropriate items in a shoe box, include a $7.00 check payable to Samaritan’s Purse (covers shipping and handling).

Attach a brochure, available in the church office or the Fellowship Hall. The final day to turn these in is November 20.

Come help us with the Christmas shoeboxes in Charlotte on Monday, December 2. We will travel to Samaritan’s Purse distribution center to help organize the huge volume of filled shoe boxes that will be shipped all over the world to provide Christmas gifts for needy children. We will leave the church parking lot at 12:30 p.m. and return about 8:30 p.m. Our work hours are 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. If you wish to reserve one of 15 spaces email Judy LeCroy at jlecroy(at)triad.rr.com or 249-3766.
