Krystal D. Craven

Martha Best Children’s Center (MBCC) is proud to announce that the center has hired a new director. Krystal D. Craven was hired on May 15, 2024 to assume the duties of leadership for the MBCC.

Krystal comes to us after serving for 23 years in public education. She has served in teaching roles, a principal in two elementary schools, and administrative roles with the Wake County Schools, the Davie County Schools and in the Thomasville City Schools.

Krystal has Bachelor’s Degrees from NC State University and NC Central
University. She holds a masters degree from the University of North Carolina. She has also has completed coursework related to school administration from Appalachian State University. Her education covers the topics of sociology, public education, and public-school administration. She has experience teaching in kindergarten to grade 3 classes. She worked in daycare facilities while obtaining her degrees.

Krystal is a resident of Lexington. She is a member of Friendship Baptist Church where she serves in leadership roles and with their youth ministries. She serves on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Davidson County. In her youth, she attended MBCC as a student. Several other members of her family have attended MBCC over the years.
