Paul Freeman

Since March 2, 2014, Paul Freeman has served as Minister of Music for First Baptist Church, Lexington, NC.

Previously, he served as Choir Director at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church in Lexington from 1974-1978, Choir Director at Central United Methodist Church in Denton from 1982-1985 and Music Director at First Reformed United Church of Christ in Lexington from 1985-2012.

Paul received a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Appalachian State University in 1974. Later he received a Master’s degree in Education from The University of North Carolina, Greensboro in 1996.

Paul was band director at Lexington Middle School from 1974 – 1996. He was selected “Teacher Of The Year” for the Lexington City Schools 1991-92. Also, he was Band Director at Tyro Middle School from 1996-2003.

Currently, he is an Academic Consultant to Appalachian State University, 1992 to present and is the Director of Bands at Forsyth Academy, Winston-Salem.

Paul is the bass player in “Second Wind”

Paul and his wonderful wife Debra have four children and twelve grandchildren
