New additions

A new addition to the FBC Library by the Carolyn Phillips Mission Group in memory of Jeanne S. Davis is now available:
Discernment by Henri Nouwen with Michael J. Christensen and Rebecca J. Laird
Though Henri Nouwen, a Catholic priest and writer, died seventeen years ago, scholars are still pouring over his unpublished lecture notes, journals and other writings. Discernment is culled from Nouwen’s journals written over a twenty-five-year period. In it he explores the notion of understanding what God has to say to us through daily life. Whether through other people, reading books, or spending time in nature, Nouwen shows us how to find a deeper meaning and hear the voice of God speaking to us and directing our paths.

Several titles have been added to the library collection recently:

  • On Grief and Grieving by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross.  A classic and inspirational book.
  • When Helping Hurts by Steve Corbett. New ways of looking at help for the poor.
  • Love Wins by Rob Bell, author of the NOOMA Series
  • Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand.  NY Times Best Seller.
  • A Billion Reasons Why by Kristin Billerbeck. Christian romances like this one are very popular in the library.
