Fall Festival

Fun, fun and more fun!

The chili beans, slaw and cornbread were great!  There was plenty of candy.  The kids in costumes were awesome but perhaps, the most intriguing were the adults…..everybody had some fun!  Shoutout to FBC’s Youth!  Great job!

Halloween Fall Festival

The Youth are organizing this year’s Halloween Fall Festival.  Our greatest fbc-halloween-2016needs are candy and donations to purchase games.

Wednesday Nights at First Baptist , Fall 2016

Our Wednesday night family night kickoff is September 14 with the Wildcat Mountain Boys Bluegrass band! FBC-familynightBegins-20142047

Our fall schedule includes studies on the Baptists in September and the Reformation in October.

We will have our annual Fall Festival on October 26 and have a report from our Search Committee in November.

Fall Festival 2015

Superman was there.  M&Ms were there.  So was a Mermaid, a cat and a host of other characters.  Oh My!  FBC is at it again by hosting its own Fall Festival.  An added bonus, there was some serious Bingo going on for the “Youngsters at heart”.  See the action below.  Note:  there are 2 slideshows.


Fall Festival Benefit 2013

Saturday, October 12 3:00 – 6:30 p.m.
Fellowship Hall and Hargrave St. Parking Lot

The Open Door Sunday School class is organizing a Fall Festival to benefit Chad Kirkendall and Kristi Hall to raise funds to help these two families with medical bills. There will be music, activities for kids and a bake sale.

Admission is free but for $5.00 you can get 2 hot dogs, chips and a drink.

If you are willing to volunteer the day of the event or provide baked goods for the sale, contact Margaret Ann Maddox at margaretannmaddox(at)gmail.com or 250-8527. or any other class members. They will also be collecting canned goods for Pastor’s Pantry.

Bring your chairs and enjoy an afternoon of fellowship for a great cause.

FBC Fall Festival 2013

Here’s the latest up-to-date information on the Fall Festival.  It’s Saturday, October 12, 2013.  Tickets are on sale now.  Cost: $5.00

For a small preview of one Silent Auction item, offered is a Black Walnut Rustic Table, hand-crafted by Jerry Poole (who does a lot of Bob Timberlake’s work).  The wood is from Rowan County, NC.   The wood was donated by Richard Baxley and Jerry Poole.

Bids for this prized, one of a kind table are now being accepted. The first bid was $200. See the pictures below for a peak at the rich tones of Black Walnut with a deep patina provided by the Artisans and time.

Semi-Oval top: 25″ at the widest portion, 19″ wide at the smallest. 27″ tall with leg spans of 12″.
