Christmas Joy

Mother Teresa said, “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.” Our church has been able to do great things this Advent, because of all the small things we have been faithful to do together.

We sent 66 shoeboxes through Operation Christmas Child, we adopted 125 Salvation Army Angels, and we gave 60 food boxes through our Sunday School. Our youth and parents sponsored a Christmas party for patients of Cancer Services, and many of our members helped with the Prison Ministry Christmas party.

There is Christmas joy in knowing we have blessed others with God’s love. Thank you for your faithfulness.

The Inmate Christmas Party Needs You!

Tuesday, December 17, Davidson Prison Ministry will hold it annual Christmas Party for inmates and staff of DC Correctional Center and we would appreciate your help.

Homemade desserts or store bought desserts are our greatest need. Pies, cakes, cookies, doughnuts, and other tasty treats will be needed in large quantities! No fresh fruit or raisins. There are 258 appreciative and hungry men. Please bring goodies to the rear entrance of the prison between 2 and 4 p.m. that day. From Raleigh Road, drive into the parking lot on the right and proceed to the back of the prison where the Dining Hall is located.

You may volunteer to help by assisting with the party itself. Women will manage the dessert buffet. Men will assist the Chaplain in presenting gift bags to the inmates in the Chapel. Call Newell Davis (248-5831) before the 10th of December to volunteer.
