Associate Minister Search Committee Update

Our search committee will have an orientation led by Dr. Jack Causey on August 2. We
ask our church members to faithfully pray for our committee as they seek God’s will in
seeking a new staff member. The committee will report to the congregation on their progress later in the fall.

Annual Fellowship Hall Cleaning

The Church Fellowship Hall will be closed for annual cleaning from Monday, August 8
until Friday, August 12, 2016. There should be no activity or use of the Fellowship Hall
during that time. The annual cleaning of the Fellowship Hall includes stripping and waxing the floors. All furniture and fixtures will be moved from the Fellowship Hall for this period of time.

Please pardon the inconvenience as we prepare for the new upcoming church year.

Faith Health — Save the dates.

Faith Health of FBC is meeting on January 8, 2014 and January 15, 2014 , both at 7:00pm and both in the church Fellowship Hall.

The January 8 meeting will be for updates and planning purposes for 2014. The January 15 meeting will be a presentation sponsored by Lexington Medical Center by the Monarcares Company on a new website and computer application for the FaithHealth NC ministry.

New members to the FaithHealth Ministry would be welcome at either (both) meetings.

Update on school in Santa Elena, Belize, Central America

The Santa Elena Primary School was completed this year  (2013) by the combined efforts of Belizians and churches in North Carolina. This project was led stateside by Hal Melton of Trinity Baptist Church, and Pastor Manny Cowo was the leader in Belize. This site is west of the Baptist Training Center where FBC Lexington usually works. But FBC in a trip with Roxboro did help build the upper level at Manny’s church–Santa Elena Baptist. In 2012, FBC contributed $1000 to help buy materials for the construction of the Primary School which also doubles as a hurricane shelter and community center. Two classrooms opened this fall.

You see the students in the one classroom who were so excited to have their pictures taken. In the below picture is the teacher of the second classroom. She is Ana Hulse (daughter of Rev. Pacheo) of Iglesia Bautista Nueva Jerusalem in Benque and graduate of the Baptist Bible School of Belize. It is so exciting to have a graduate of the pastor’s school leading the children.

Thanks so much,
