In the first chapter of John, Jesus found Andrew and then Andrew found Simon and invited him to “come and see”. On Sunday, February 5th as our church celebrates communion, you are invited to find someone who would not be in our service and invite them to “come and see” and offer to experience the Christ with them as you share communion together.
Find someone who would not be coming to church on February 5th. It could be one of our homebound members or someone in a nursing home. You might know of someone who does not attend church or hasn’t been to church in a long time. Offer to come and share the service with them or invite them to your home where you can listen to the service and share communion together.
Once you contact someone, you will need to have a good radio or access to a computer where you can listen to the service. You will need to provide the elements for communion: grape juice and bread. We can provide small communion cups if you would like. Bulletins will be available on Wednesday night, February 1st. You will listen to the live broadcast until time for communion; then the radio broadcast will have a special recording to guide in the service of communion.
This is a way we can reach out to others and experience the Christ through communion. We are taking the church to others; not expecting them to come to us. We are also highlighting our radio and web ministry that reaches hundreds of people each week.
Please let the office know where you will be on February 5th and the names of those with whom you will be sharing communion.
